Key Destinations and Major Cities

Siem Reap & Angkor

Today, Siem Reap is one of the most popular destinations on the planet due to its location on the doorstep of the incredible Angkor area with a temple density of more than 1,000 shrines. The town is still a small charming place with old French Colonial houses, tree-lined streets and a slow-flowing river where everything can easily be explored by walking or cycling.

Phnom Penh

Phnom Penh is the capital of Cambodia and is a large city with each of its quarters marked with a different character. The atmosphere around the central market buzzes with commercial zeal. In the former Embassy District, refurbished colonial villas with large gardens symbolize the French Colonial heritage.

Sihanoukville

Sihanoukville is the country’s only seaport and an area famous for tropical beaches. You have your pick of pristine white sandy beaches with gentle waves and surrounding grass hut restaurants and bars. A dozen of islands around Sihanoukville. Local fishermen take visitors on trips around the islands where there are coral reefs perfect for snorkeling, diving and fishing.

Kep

Kep-sur-Mer was founded as a seaside retreat for the French colonial elite back in the 1980s. Today the town has a relaxed vibe with exclusive luxury boutique hotels restored on top of the old villas destroyed by the Khmer Rouge. The town sits on a small peninsula where a palm tree-fringed road goes along the coastline and is famed for its spectacular sunsets and fresh seafood.

Kampot

The quiet town of Kampot is still “off the beaten track” and a place of pure authenticity. Formerly a holiday retreat of wealthy Khmers, Kampot attracts visitors with its rusty French colonial flair, bustling markets and beautiful local countryside. The province is also well renowned for its fruit orchards, stunning national parks and famous Kampot pepper plantations and salt production fields.
